Is there any way, or a service, to remove the date in permalinks?
-
I want to remove the date in my permalink address, so I can change the date after posting and links will still work. From my search, it does not appear this is possible, but there are a lot of people looking to make this happen, so it would seem there should be a way–even if it would be considered a premium service.
I want dates on my posts but not in the links. It seems that with my unique blog ID plus unique titles, the date should not be required. Also, for whatever reason, when Twitter shares my link, it adjusts to the right date, and when Networked Blogs shares it, people can get there. But the direct WP to FB link gives a 404 error if I change the date on the post because I’ve done some editing. Is my only option to give myself extra editing time by changing my timezone before I post and then changing it back?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It is not possible to modify the permalink structure on WordPress.com. If it is something that is important to your site plans, you might consider migrating to a self hosted WordPress.org site:

Thanks. I found a way around it by deleting the links that come directly from WP.com since somehow, the ones that go from WP to Twitter to FB keep the same shortlink even with a date change, so they work fine.
I do have WP.org on my domain, but I haven’t merged the blog into it yet.
