Is this a joke?

    To delete the account this (https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-deactivation/) page literally says to create a fake email?

    I’m legitely asking if this is a joke. No internet service, and specially something big like wordpress would ever suggest such, immature, unprofessional and somewhat vulgar approach.

    ‘Oh, you don’t want us to call you? Yeah, can you give us a fake phone number? We can’t really delete you, ha-ha!?’

    Hi deletedaccount124125,

    The information on our Account Deactivation. The username itself can’t be deleted and this policy is in place to help prevent impersonation. However you can remove all personal information from the account if you wish.

    As our documentation mentions, your personal email address can be replaced with a throwaway email address if you wish to disconnect it from the account completely.
