is this the only tech support available?

Hi, I’d much rather ask wordpress directly than address this to a public forum, but it appears this is all that’s available. I have two email addresses, and I’m not able to move them between wordpress accounts the way I’d like because they both already have account histories associated with them. How do I convince a person from wordpress’s support to help me fix this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi –

This forum is enhanced through community volunteers but there is also an entire support team dedicated to supporting free users of WordPress.com.

The email addresses on any given account can be changed. You have to get signed in to the account, and go to https://wordpress.com/me/account/ From there, you can change the email address on the account. It is now freed up to be used on a different WordPress.com account.

  • I ran across your other thread about this and have one more though to add. You mentioned you have two addresses but they’re both associated with histories.

One easy fix is to use an alias. Instead of using this:

(email visible only to moderators and staff)

    Use this:

(email visible only to moderators and staff)

You can make that +1, +whatever, +doesnotmatter … whatever letters or numbers make the most sense to you. Gmail will ignore the plus sign and anything after it. But we won’t, so it’s in effect a second email account that delivers to the same address.

Want to give that a try?

Noting too, if you have a paid plan you get direct, private support:
    https://wordpress.com/plans
