Issues
-
Hello,
I am a newbie and have made a grave error. So let’s start from the beginning.
I own a domain that I was trying to host on my Synology NAS while the company was in the early stages prior to being launched. I used the WordPress add-on. When I enter in my website “www.projectelroy.com.au” is redirects me to “http://projectelroy.com.au.wordpress.com/”
I would like to change this but in my infinite wisdom, I entered an email address that does not exist and now cannot recover my password. So my questions are as follows and I am thinking any answer to any of them will solve my problem *crosses fingers*.
1. How can I stop the redirection of my domain to WordPress?
2. How can I change the email address associated with my WordPress account?
3. How can I delete the account so the first two issues are automatically resolved?Any help would be great.
Thanks
Adam

Hi there,
1. How can I stop the redirection of my domain to WordPress?
You need to go to your registrar’s (GoDaddy) domain control panel and delete any redirection record to that WordPress.com site. For more help on that you need to get in touch with GoDaddy.
2. How can I change the email address associated with my WordPress account?
3. How can I delete the account so the first two issues are automaticallyYou need to follow our Account Recovery guide to access that account and then delete it.
However, if you only turn off your domain’s redirection there’s no need to adjust anything on that WordPress.com site.

Thanks for the direction fstat.
I have spoken with GoDaddy and they say there must be something within WordPress that takes the domain and redirects it. GoDaddy has tried to park it again but it doesn’t seem to have worked.
I tried the account recovery guide you commented on but none of those options will work for me as the email I entered does not exist, I do not have a two-step authentication, or a transaction ID or activation URL.
I do however have the document from GoDaddy that shows I own the domain, I also have the WordPress site title, username and what I thought was the password. I took a screenshot of it.
If WordPress could either delete the user attached to the site title or change the email attached, I can worry about the rest.
Any further help would be great.
