Issues updating wordpress

  When I try to update wordpress to 6.5.3 it comes up with this error:

  Downloading update from https://downloads.wordpress.org/release/wordpress-6.5.3-new-bundled.zip…

  The authenticity of wordpress-6.5.3-new-bundled.zip could not be verified as no signature was found.

  Unpacking the update…

  There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

  Stays like this for a while then refreshes and is not updated, and repeats this message when I try again.
  I’ve been trying this since last Thursday and still not updated.

  same issue with my site and now my site is still down
