Jetpack Connection Issue
-
Hi
please can someone assist me, i am having an issue with jetpack connecting to my site.
i am getting this error when installing jetpack : The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site https://mellobox.co.za [IXR -32300: transport error: http_request_failed cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10000 milliseconds]I had jetpack installed and it was working fine until this error showed up and so i tried to disconnect, deactivate and delete and try to reinstall but this error is keeps on popping up.
I have disabled all plugins and tested but the problem still persists.
i have switched over to the default twenty twenty theme and the problem still persists.I have contacted my hosting provider and they have advised me that they are not blocking the XML-RPC and they FFG-CHILDREN is set to 5.
i have tested my site https://mellobox.co.za/xmlrpc.php and it shows up as it should.
I really need your guys help in fixing this issue as i am really stuck on resolving this issue.

https://mellobox.co.za/xmlrpc.php works, but https://mellobox.co.za/xmlrpc.php?for=jetpack which Jetpack requires to function is timing out.
Unfortunately, blocking XML-RPC is not a great solution for fighting security risks. It’s akin to selling your car because you don’t want it to be stolen.
Your site’s XML-RPC file is kind of like a communication gateway to your site. Jetpack, the WordPress Mobile Apps, and other plugins and services will use this file to communicate to your site. If this is blocked, you will have other issues pop-up down the road for the same reasons.
If you are using any security plugins, please try connecting with those temporarily deactivated. If you don’t have any, or if that didn’t work, I would suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to unblock your site’s XML-RPC. The most popular hosting providers out there have managed to find other ways to protect their servers without having to hinder your site and your ability to use services with your WordPress site.
If they refuse to make any changes, and if you want to use apps and plugins like Jetpack, I’d suggest looking for a new host. Here are a few hosts we recommend: https://jetpack.com/hosting/

i have contacted my hosting provider and they have confirmed and said that they are not blocking the XML-RPC

I have managed to fix the problem. my IP address was blocked and my hosting company has whitelisted it.
