Jetpack encountered an error and was unable to display the Dashboard.

  I made some changes to Jetpack settings then the next day I wanted to edit the changes I had made but cannot access Jetpack settings anymore (I cannot see the dashboard either). I get the message “Jetpack encountered an error and was unable to display the Dashboard.” And if I try to make a change in setting I get the error: “Error updating settings. JsonParseError”

  All the diagnostics suggest there is nothing wrong with my installation but there clearly is something wrong.
