Jetpack, Mailchimp & Double Opt-In

    Hello,

    I have integrated Jetpack into my WordPress site and when using Jetpack’s Mailchimp block I noticed that user who signup for my email list are automatically added to my list’s audience. On the Mailchimp side I have Double Opt-in and Re-captcha enabled in my settings. So, the Jetpack integrations are not respecting this setting behavior.

    I have reached out to Mailchimp support and confirmed with them that WordPress integration is superseding my audience setting, and their recommendation was to work with WordPress support to turn on this setting on the WordPress side.

    So, my question is: How can I do that?

    Here’s the email I received back from Mailchimp support:
    ‘Tim,

    Hello again! I was able to confirm through a test sign up that contacts are being sent over as Subscribed from your WordPress signup form.

    As the status being sent over is via the integration, it would supersede the Audience setting. Meaning, in order to have those contacts go through the double opt-in process, we need to see their status sent to us as Pending.

    I recommend reaching out to WordPress Customer Support to assist you with enabling the double opt-in setting within their application.

    Once you have the double opt-in enabled on their end, contacts will be sent to us as Pending and will then trigger the confirmation emails.
