jetpack stats not working

  jetpack stats not working on two of my sites (wordpress installs). This is the error message; We were unable to get your stats just now. Please try again.
  Yet, two other wordpress installs (sites) on the same server are working perfectly. What is the problem?

  Sorry for the trouble!

  Please try upgrading to Jetpack 1.8.1.

  Thank you for the reply. The Jetpack version is the most recent (1.8.1). That would be simple, right? Next suggestion. I’ve activated and deactivated 3 times to no avail, turned off any unnecessary plugins, and have not changed anything else. One day working, the next day not. More suggestions are welcome, please?

  Ok, please try deactivating all plugins except Jetpack. If that doesn’t work, try temporarily switching to the Twenty Eleven theme, as theme functions can sometimes interfere like plugins.

  That worked on both sites! I guess it shook the dust motes out of the engine or something. Everything off, jetpack back on, then everything else turned on. Who knew? I am grateful for your help.
