jQuery errors on image upload
-
A user has reported the following error on my blog the last 2 days:
“one cannot add images on Chrome and FF
you see error on IE9 but can still add”.They have attached a screenshot of jQuery errors which I’d like to show but cannot, but they are TypeError and ReferenceError.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi chrispattison66,
If the user who reported the issue can get in touch with us directly, that may make this troubleshooting process easier. If you are having the same issues, we can work with you on this as well.
You are welcome to upload the screenshots to your blog’s Media Library (under Media > Add New) and I can take a look at them there.
Can you have the user who is getting this error try a few things?
- Try uploading an image with both the multi-file and the browser uploaders: Multi-file vs. Browser Uploader
- Force a refresh on the browser.
- Clear the browser’s cache and cookies.
- Make sure the URL in the address of the browser contains “wordpress.com/wp-admin”. If this is not part of the URL, the uploader and insert functions will not work properly.
- Update the Flash player: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
If those steps don’t resolve the problem, please let us know the exact steps this user is taking to upload images and when the problem occurs. The following information about this user’s computer setup will also help us out:
- The computer’s operating system and version
- The version of the different web browsers where this error occurs
- Whether Javascript is enabled
- The version of Flash installed
This information can also be found by going to this link: http://supportdetails.com/
Thank you in advance for the info you can provide which will help us to troubleshoot the problems!
