JSON error after adding a multilanguage plug in (version 6.8.1)

    simple issue, i think:
    I created a new wordpress site, choose a new template (doesn’t matter which one, even the defaults have the same issue).
    Then i change the template with things i like, then i add a multilanguage plugin (doesn’t matter which one), and then, after editing the site : “Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response”.
    Please don’t tell me to upgrade WP to the latest level, turn on error messages/logging, permalinks, etc etc etc.
    I tried everything, really everything. But the error is like “something went wrong but we don’t give you any clue what the hell is wrong”.
    My situation is: windows 2019, IIS install, MySQL, etc etc etc.

    Is there a way to get a detailled error which could help me or the rest of us?
