Hi Lutece! This sounds like the default “Coming Soon” mode that WordPress.com places new sites in by default. It’s intentional so you have time to build the site before it’s visible to the public, but the side effect is exactly what you’re seeing: visiting the public URL just shows the placeholder page with no way to interact with it.
To get into your site and start building, try this:
- Go to wordpress.com/sites (make sure you’re logged in to the WordPress.com account that created athensmithacademy.wordpress.com)
- You should see your site listed there
- Click it to open your dashboard
If that doesn’t work, you can also try going directly to: athensmithacademy.wordpress.com/wp-admin
Once you’re in the dashboard, to turn off Coming Soon mode and make the site live:
- Go to Settings → General (or Settings → Privacy depending on which setup you have)
- Find the launch status option and switch it from “Coming Soon” to “Public” (or “Launched”)
That should clear the blank placeholder on the public URL.
If even the dashboard route doesn’t get you in, meaning the wp-admin URL is also blank, let us know and someone can dig in further. In that case it’s probably worth filing a direct ticket via wordpress.com/support/contact, since they can look at your account directly.
