Latex Code Not Turning Into Equations…Very Newbie
-
Hi,
I’m interested in putting some equations on my site. I pasted this example
$latex ihbarfrac{partial}{partial t}left|Psi(t)right>=Hleft|Psi(t)right>$
straight from the WP documentation, but it just shows up as is–doesn’t turn into MATH! I tried entering it in the Display tab and the Text tab.
My silly newbie question is this: Do I need to install one of the LaTeX plug-ins. or is this supposed to just work within plain old WordPress?
Thanks,
–Danny

I just want to know if I need a plug in to make latex code like this
$latex ihbarfrac{partial}{partial t}left|Psi(t)right>=Hleft|Psi(t)right>$
turn into lovely math, or if it’s supposed to work without any plug-ins.
Here’s how it looks now (just a test page):

So, Latex works without any plugins on WordPress.com sites. The reason that I asked about your URL was to check and make sure that you were trying to get Latex to work on a WordPress.com site. However, your site is a self-hosted WordPress site using the software available at WordPress.org. If you aren’t familiar, here is a link that gives a quick overview of the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org
The best place for self-hosted WordPress site help is the support forums on WordPress.org:
