  Although my site is completely finished for now, I’m not completely comfortable with launching it to the world. What happens when I launch my site? Is there any way I can share it with certain people or encrypt it with a password?

  After you launch your site, you can still make it Private and visible only to people you invite to it: https://wordpress.com/support/settings/privacy-settings/
