  Hi, I am a complete technophobe who was asked to help my father create a website. This was quite a while ago and now he has messaged me as the website is down and the message that shows on here is regarding the licence key. Can someone help me please?

  What License key are you talking about because wordpress.com doesn’t such a thing as as license key.

  Under license setting on here, it says that the license key doesn’t match your current domain. This is most likely due to a change in the domain URL of your site. Please deactivate the license a
  nd then reactivate it again.
  Truly at a loss !
