  Our license expired and we received no notification. Who do we contact?

  Hi there,

  I’m not sure what you’re speaking of – we don’t sell any licenses on WordPress.com. Can you please provide some more details?

  If you mean the Premium Plan and domain on kentschoolcc.com, those belong to another admin on the site with the username, kentschoolcc. Please log in as that account, or ask the owner of that account to log in and renew the upgrades.

  Only the account that owns an upgrade can renew it.

  Hi @jcoulombe44, even though you are a site admin, the upgrade was purchased by kentschoolcc. The notifications were sent to the address on that account.

  Are you able to log out and log in as that user so you can renew the upgrade?

  Thanks, folks–I know this must be frustrating for you, so you can imagine how frustrating it is for us, especially when an entire school is waiting for this site to come back up. The person who created this site has now left for another school, but I’ve been in communication with him and he’d be happy to help. Before he left, we made me the site administrator with my username jcoulombe44. How can we prove this to you? All we’re trying to do is pay & renew–can’t believe it’s this hard.

  We are not disputing that you are a site admin. We can see that very clearly in our system.

  But you are not the owner of the upgrades. You will only be able to renew the upgrades if the current owner first transfers ownership to you.

  Domain ownership is regulated by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), and as per their regulations a domain provider may only allow the owner of a domain to make changes to it. kentschoolcc is the owner of your site’s domain and only someone logged into that account can renew the domain or transfer ownership to another account.

  If you’re in contact with the owner of that account, ask them to please follow the steps here to transfer ownership of the domain:

  If they’re no longer at your school, I would also recommend they then transfer ownership of the site itself, which will remove them as an admin – currently they still own the site, so even though they’re no longer involved, they still have full access including the ability to delete the site if they chose.
