When I ‘like’ on someone’s blog, it doesn’t show. I get a blank pop-up screen which disappears quickly.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @esvenables does this happen on every WordPress site, or just a certain one?
Also, does the same thing happen no matter which browser you use? For example if you’re using Safari now, does the issue also happen in Firefox or Chrome?

Thanks for your response. I mainly use Safari and haven’t tried on Firefox. (Those are the only 2 browsers I use). It seems to happen on all of the blogs that I follow. Sometimes, if I go back in to the mail alert I can press ‘like’ there and it follows through.
I’ll try on Firefox. -
Hi there,
If it happens in Safari only, it’s most likely due to that browser’s security settings.
A couple versions ago Safari introduced a feature that prevents websites from tracking you across different sites. While it prevents, for example, Facebook from seeing what sites you visit so they can show related ads to you on their platform, it also prevents us from detecting that you’re already logged into WordPress.com when viewing a site other than your own. And that can cause features like Likes, commenting and following, to not work correctly any more.
Unfortunately Safari doesn’t offer a way to whitelist certain sites, allowing us to track you while still blocking others. So the only way to make things work at this time is to turn off that setting in Safari completely:
Open Preferences and click on Privacy, and uncheck the box next to “Prevent cross-site tracking”

Thank you so much. I’ll use WordPress on Firefox in future. I appreciate the time and trouble you’ve taken to sort out my problem.
