Like button problems
-
I do not want the ‘like’ or ‘sharing’ buttons to show on my pages. I unclick them in the edit screen, but when I save and return to the page, it still shows the ‘like’ button. I have done this over and over again.
Is there a way to fix this in CSS?An example page: http://theinnerground.com/people/
Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you do not enable them then they cannot appear on your blog.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/#turn-likes-onoff-on-specific-postshttp://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/#disabling-sharing-on-specific-postsThat being said know that you cannot disable the like button on the Admin bar or prevent anyone from sharing any link to any post on any public blog. If you do not wish your posts to be liked and shared perhaps making your blog private is the way to go. To change blog visibility to private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 . See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

well, as I tried to explain…what is occurring is that when I disable them on my pages, they still appear. I do not mind the like button appearing on my posts, but do not want them on the pages. I will check the links you sent to see if any offer suggestions. This is an internal problem with the wordpress site or the specific theme…it works for some pages, but not all, and should work as it is set-up to function as an optional addition to the page-like a widget or a comment section.
I am not interested in making my blog private.
Thanks. -
If you don’t see the Likes and Shares module so your can disable then you may need to unhide it using the screen options link in the upper right hand corner of your dashboard. For more information on working with the screen options feature please see this support doc. http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/

Thank you for trying to help with this, but this isn’t the problem.
As I said, I actively disable the like and share button, but the like button continues to appear on my page after publishing.
My question here is if there is a way to address this in CSS, so the problem does not continue to occur. -
I don’t help with CSS editing. Please be patient while waiting for help form that that do provide support for it.

Hi there, if you open the people page in the editor and scroll down to the bottom, you can deselect disable likes on that page.

Hello,
This is what I have been trying to do again and again, but when I save, the like button continues to show up on the page. This is what I have been explaining. There seems to be a glitch in this theme or via wordpress. This is why i am searching for an alternative method for remove the like button. -
At Settings > Sharing, on the WordPress.com Likes are… I changed your setting to “Turned on per post” and the Like is now gone from the people page.
