"Like" not working correctly
-
I have tried “like”ing several blog posts – and yes, I am logged in when I do – but all that happens when I press the “like” button is that a small window comes up with nothing in it. The first time I tried, that was a login window, but after I logged in, I still get the window and no change in the number of likes. I finally worked around it by adding the blog to my “Reader” where I was able to “like” the post I wanted to, but this makes me think that the like feature in general is not working correctly.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you referring to clicking the like button on the posts of other bloggers? Or are you referring to clicking the like button on the posts on your own blog?

Oops! We were posting at the same time above.
Without knowing every one of your specific computing environment details we cannot create a parallel set up to duplicate any issue you may be experiencing. We can’t do that without your specifics.
If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
If you are, please do these:
(1) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html(2) Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled

(3) Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
(4) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
If you are not successful let us know exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/ and also post any error reports you get.

I have another question for you. Please provide the URL(s) of a couple of the blogs you cannot click the like button on.
-
I am using Firefox, just updated yesterday. Why must third-party cookies be enabled? I usually prefer to have cookies only go back to the site I am looking at.
The blog that I discovered it on is http://saysomethingin.wordpress.com/

If your do not enable third party cookies some of the features here will be inaccessible to you as you have discovered. I’ll tag this thread for a clarification from Staff. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

@ sionned, Third-party cookies are used when specific features on a site (such as the Like button) rely on resources that we keep on different domains. You can read more about privacy and third-party cookies here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie#Privacy_and_third-party_cookies
You can also read about third-party cookies and WordPress.com here:
As timethief mentioned, certain features on WordPress.com will not be available if you do not have third-party cookies enabled. I hope this information helps!
