Link appears in post preview but not the published final site
-
The link I added shows up AND works correctly in the preview of the post.
However, after publishing and going to the site the link is not present.
I have cleared and reloaded the cache.
The HTML code does NOT include the link but does include the link text.
(I know this by viewing the page source.)This is the link:
World Sailing Press ReleaseI tried highlighting text and then pressing create link. I tried inserting a link and then typing everything in. The preview is always correct and always works but the published page never works.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The link doesn’t work off the home page but when you click on the post title and it takes you to the full post the link is correct.
-
Can you show me a specific post/page where you are having trouble with this? I’d like to check the code.

Hi, if you go to the site above, jscalaserfleet.wordpress.com you will see the 3rd line says “…The press release is here: World Sailing Press Release.”. In the editor “World Sailing Press Release” is an HTML link with the correct tag, the correct href, and the correct closing tag. The preview shows it correctly. When I publish and go to the site there is no tag and link just the text. If you click on “Continue Reading” or the title of the post it will take you to the full post. THAT has the correct link in it.

So, that is because the theme you are using (The Morning After) uses post excerpts for post display on the blog home page.
https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/themorningafter/
Excerpts do not recognize HTML generally. You’ll see that the link is visible here on the full post page:
