Link to existing website.

  My developer left me high and dry. I have an existing website using WP but have no idea how to link that site with my WP.com login.

  Hello Mike,

  Are you able to log into WP-Admin on that site? To link that site you need a plugin, so if you’re able to install plugins, go to Plugins and search for Jetpack. Once you install that plugin it will prompt you to connect to a WordPress.com account, and then you’ll be able to manage that site using your WordPress.com login.

  Hi–

  I work on the admin site daily and have Jetpack installed. When I go to wordpress.com it asks me to create a new site. That’s the whole problem.
  The reason I’m revisiting this issue is because I need an add-on allowing me to have a customer-filled text variation on a product.

  You are not currently logged in as the connected WordPress.com account on the site.

  You can see the connected account, or disconnect and reconnect to the desired account, at Jetpack > Dashboard > Site Connection > Manage Site Connection in your site’s Dashboard.

  That’s the problem, I believe. When logging into WP it asks for my email, auto-fills the password, and that login is not connected to my site.

  At the screen you mentioned above, I see this:

  Your site is connected to WordPress.com.
  You are the Jetpack owner.
  Manage site connection
  Account connection

  Connected as sparkedits (DEVELOPER)
  (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  Log in to the WordPress mobile app

  Going to >Manage Site Connection warns me about disconnecting the site. Obviously I must have a WP account that I’m not aware of. I’m at a loss here; I have other email accounts but I never would have associated them with y business.

  Right, so either you need to log into WordPress.com as sparkedits or connect your own WordPress.com account.

  You can also connect your own WordPress.com account there without disconnecting (sites can have multiple connections).

  Thanks. I have no idea what the PW is for the sparkedits. If there is an option to connect my own account to my website, I don’t see it and I’ve been scrolling around.

  We have some options for that at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

  If there is an option to connect my own account to my website

  At Jetpack > Dashboard > Site Connection > Manage Site Connection in your site’s Dashboard, simply hit the “Disconnect Jetpack” link, then reconnect Jetpack to your mikemoran5519 account.
