Link to/storage of original media files

  I am about to change jobs and am tidying up my files. Before I go deleting everything I’ve uploaded to WordPress.com – do I need to keep anything? Or do image files / uploads ‘live’ in the media library permanently?

  Well, they don’t if you delete them. I suggest you simply set to Private anything you don’t want public. And make an export file (on the Tools page) so you have a copy of everything.

  I guess I wasn’t completely clear – I wouldn’t be deleting them from the Media Library – but my own computer?

  Deleting things from your hard drive has no effect on the website. The files are in the media library till they are deleted or WordPress.com itself goes offline.
