Linking external domain name and fees going forward

    I am seeing on your website that to link our domain we need to pay an annual fee and that the domain is included for the first year with no charge. The company we have our domain through (Netfirms) we recently purchased for 5 years. What would this mean for us if we got an annual plan through WordPress? How much would our renewal be after the first year? Trying to understand what this will entail before purchasing anything further.

    If you already own the domain, this can be connected to WordPress as per these instructions: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

    If a paid plan is on the site, then this is free to do.

    A domain free, for the first year perk – is for newly registered domains through WordPress.com.
