Linking to a separate sql database

    Hello,

    I am currently running my website that i coded from the ground up but I am interested in switching over to WordPress for all the awesome plugins and themes. I was wondering if it is possible within WordPress to link to and display data from a database separate from the database I would have WordPress installed on? I would usually just do this with php but I could not find a way to do it.

    We do offer options for migrating from most popular platforms as you see here: https://wordpress.com/support/import/

    However, we do not offer an option for manually importing from an custom (non-WordPress) website so we would not be able to assist you in this move.

    We do offer SQL and PHP access (as well as the ability to upload any plugin or theme you wish) under your Business and eCommerce Plans, so you can attempt to make this move yourself by first upgrading your site. More info here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

    It’s not possible however to access PHP/SQL if you are using our free, Personal, or Premium site offerings, so an upgrade would be required in this case.
