Linking Tumblr to WordPress site with custom domain name

  Hello WordPress,

  I have a domain registered through WordPress (www.mikaokusa.com). I usually linked my Tumblr content to WordPress (whatever was updated in Tumblr would update in WordPress). I received the following from Tumblr:

  “We have made a change to the way we’re serving our custom domain traffic. You can still access your blog through its Tumblr URL: catalystcorner.tumblr.com, but your custom domain no longer redirects to your blog.
  To fix this, please point your A Record for http://www.mikaokusa.com to Tumblr’s new IP: 66.6.44.4

  I looked at this part of the WordPress website (http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/custom-dns/), but it says “Note: that you cannot add an A record for a root level domain such as mydomain.com through the WordPress.com Custom DNS editor. You must use another DNS hosting provider if you want to do that.”

  I am not sure how to input the IP information that Tumblr gave me to WordPress. I would like to connect my Tumblr to WordPress (www.mikaokusa.com) so that when I update my Tumblr, the WordPress is also updated. Your help in this matter is very much appreciated!

  Hi Mika,

  I went ahead and updated the A Record for your domain mikaokusa.com, so it is now pointed to your Tumblr blog again. Please note that it can take 48-72 hours for domain changes like this to take full effect.

  You can view and manage these advanced DNS settings in the Domain Administration section under Store > Domains in your dashboard.
