Loading time for Imbalance 2 theme on XP IE client GHASTLY

  I just showed my site to a third party who was running IE on XP and the posts took a dramatically long time to load. It loads fine on my Windows 7 machine (2 GHZ, 2 GB RAM). Is this in anyway a server side issue that I could fix with an upgrade — or is the theme I’m using a memory hog? (Theme: Imbalance 2 by WPShower – visibleorder.wordpress.com). Please advise.

  I’m on the Dusk to Dawn theme looking at it on Firefox and I’ve been waiting an edit post page to open for five minutes now. It’s ridiculous. Something is clearly up at WordPress’s end.

  Is it possible that a low end system would have trouble loading the site without delays – it was embarrassing. Could it have been the ads thingamagic? Would that cause loading delays for people not logged in as members?

  I’m on windows XP too but I run Firefox 15.01 as I consider IE browsers to be problematic and I’m into reliability. I don’t know anything about ads. I despise them on blogs and I pay for a No-Ads upgrade to keep them off my blog. Like millions of others I run AdBlock Plus on my browser so I don’t have to see ads.

  No there’s no upgrade you can purchase that will “fix” this. Anyone with older computers and/or out of date browsers will experience issues – that’s a given in the cyberworld.

  No. I don’t require what’s in that bundle. I have domain mapping and the No-Ads Upgrade and that’s all I ever intend to purchase. AdBlock Plus takes the stress out of viewing blogs covered in advertising. lol :D

  I literally think this was just a hiccup in wordpress, nothing to do with upgrades. I have upgrades up the wazoo and still saw a huge slowdown at that time. seems better now.
