Locked Out ? Need information please

    Hello WordPressians,

    I’m a user that is concerned about a thing to which I could not find any information by skimming through your different options.

    It addresses security measures.

    Is it true that one can be locked out of a WordPress website for two years if a single error is made with the website password ?

    If yes, how can the situation be resolved ?

    No, it sounds like you are referring to if a site is deleted. Once a site is deleted, the URL of the site will not become available for two years.

    Regarding passwords, if you forget your password, you can simply reset it by going here:

    https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

    I would make sure that you remember your username and email because there are users who forget them or lose access to their email – that is where it gets tough to regain access to your account and site.
