Locked out of site

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello!

Suddenly I’m unable to access my site admin anymore. The site is still live.

But the backend says I need a new password. I’ve chosen a new password multiple times and every time it saves the new password and then tells it’s wrong when I try to log in.

Stuck in a loop, in other words.

Via the main WordPress site I am to be able to sign into what looks like a profile of me. But there it says that I have no site. Which is obviously wrong. I do have a site.

My site is http://www.carlhonore.com. It is live and visible on the Web. But the doesn’t even appear in the “Select the blog you need help with” drop-down menu above.

At one point, the system seemed to accept one of my new passwords. But instead of directing me to the Admin page it took me to the site itself.

When I click my old link for the Admin page, it now takes me to a screen saying:

“You do not have sufficient permissions to access this admin page.
Reason: The current user doesn’t have the “read” capability that is required to access the “Dashboard” menu item”

    This is nuts.

    Any help gratefully received….

    Thanks!

  • I checked your site, and it’s not hosted here on WordPress.com. It’s using the WordPress.org software and hosted on a different host. So, to get help with your login issue, please contact your hosting provider.

If the issue is related to your WordPress installation, then you can post in the WordPress.org support forums:

    Hello,

Thanks for coming back to me!

    There’s a difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org?

    Wow, that’s confusing….

I am chasing my hosting provider now.

    Cheers!
    Carl
