Log into a WordPress Account User’s account as administrator

    Received email from WordPress providing me with a username for an existing WordPress Account and asked me to set password. I input the username provided and set a password. Went to login and system said no account was found.

    Hi there,

    It sounds like you’ve received login credentials for an admin account on a stand-alone WordPress website. WordPress.com username accounts don’t work in the way you describe.

    What is the site for which you received the invitation, and what is the username? If this is an invitation for a stand-alone site, those login details will ONLY work on that site, and cannot be used to log into a WordPress.com account.
