Logging into Admin Dashboard

Hello WP team. I have logged into my WordPress account. I have switched to the site to the one I would like to edit etc. on the top left of WP account page, but every time I then click on ‘edit’ or ‘WPAdmin’ in the menu it takes me to another log in page which then does not let me in because it hasn’t recognised the username I’m actually already logged with.
Help.
I’m on an iMac OS 10.9.5 using Chrome Version 65.0.3325.181

Tried the same sequence in Safari (also old Version 9.1.3) and it sailed into the dashboard.
