Tried password reset. Maybe too complex a choice. At login told me I had it wrong. Requested another password reset and got nothing. Help!

OK thanks. That is a distinction I did not know. Appreciate the guidance. I am guessing then that the Word Press download application will be of no use to me?

Your site is hosted with Hostgator, yes? I’m guessing it is based by the word “gator” in your temp URL.
If so, Hostgator uses the open source version of the WordPress software (as staff-blorbo mentioned above) the distinction is that they have a tool that installs the software package for you.
With that in mind we are not able to help directly, as your site lies outside of our WordPress.com hosting.
However, the good news is that as long as you have access to the server control panel through the Hostgator, it is always possible to regain access to your self-hosted WordPress site. This WordPress.org Codex article will walk you through it: http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
You can ask Hostgator support for direct assistance in completing the steps in that article; they would be in the best position to help.
