Login Required Not Necessary?

  I’ve found that i do not require to login when leaving a comment on blogs? This means that I can blog as anyone who I know has a gravatar without the need to login to post a comment. This potentially means that I can hijack someones online profile and ruin their reputation.

  Why is it that I can comment on blogs without needing to use my password to post a comment?

  You ARE logged in. And if you’ve been logged in and not cleared your cookies, then the software can tell who you are and when you logged in and who as. You will not be able to leave comments as a different person. Try it.

  I used Internet Explorer and had never used it before and was able to post the comment.

  Okay okay I understand just tried in Chrome incognito on your blog so maybe this regular blog just remembers me.
