Look of theme

I have watched the demo on how to configure the theme I bought – Portfolio – but it does not seem to want to look at all like the theme. I have looked at all the posts and can’t figure it out. I like the look of this theme so am hoping it can be fixed. I already had a blog that I had done as a trial to see if I could manage to build a site. Perhaps this is the problem? Please help as I am totally frustrated at this point. Thanks so much. This will be a website that I want to attach a domain name to and hosting from somewhere else so haven’t even got to that. I hope this will not be a problem. Also, am I able to add a text box into the front page.

I bought the portfolio theme and watched how to go in and make it look like the demo. I followed all the instructions. However, I can’t get the featured slider onto my home page, the boxes don’t go across the page, actually, nothing looks as it does in the demo.

I’m sorry you’re having so much trouble with this. It looks like you’ve refunded your purchase of the Portfolio theme.
I’ll look through the support document for the theme to make sure there aren’t any steps missed in setting it up.
