Losing my mind…. help needed!

    Hi. I have a WP account from a few years ago which I (inadvertently) used to purchase a new web theme. I have a WP website with different login details that I’m wanting to update with said new theme. I can’t see how to get the theme into Zip format to enable me to update the website. I decided to give up and repurchase the theme with the login details from my website. I can’t log into wp.com with these details, why would this be? I then tried to delete the old account entirely – but I couldn’t, because I have an ‘active purchase’ – the theme. It says I need to cancel the theme in order to close my account yet there’s no ‘cancel theme’ option anywhere…going slightly crazy here…..

    Are you talking about the Perle theme on the above site? If you purchase a Premium theme here at WordPress.com it is designed to be used on a WordPress.com site such as https://listeningmama.wordpress.com/. If you wanted to use that particular theme on a site hosted elsewhere using the WordPress.org software then you buy the appropriate version of the theme directly from the developers and upload it to that site. If you have now done that you can get a refund for the Perle theme on your empty WordPress.com site via Manage Purchases (if you purchased the theme less than 30 days ago) or Staff here can remove the theme if you really want to delete this WordPress.com site. I have added the modlook tag to ask a member of staff to reply to you.

    This sounds like you’re referring to a site using the open source WordPress software found on WordPress.org. If that’s the case, you won’t be able to download and use any theme you purchased on WordPress.com with that site – WordPress.com premium themes are licensed for use on WordPress.com only, not with sites using the WordPress software with other hosting providers.

    If this is a self-hosted WordPress site your WordPress.com login credentials won’t work there. The admin login credentials for that site is unique to that site, and stored in the site’s database on your hosting provider’s servers, and has nothing to do with WordPress.com.

    Please confirm if you’re speaking of this WordPress.com account that have the Perle theme, purchased in April of this year. I can remove the theme for you, but please be aware that we are not able to issue a refund for that theme any more.
