Lost access and assigned to an unknown account

It Appears i have lost access to my current paid account and have been assigned some random persons account. i was unable to speak with a ‘happiness engineer’ so im not so happy. has this happened to anyone else?

Hi, I have lost access to my free account richardkemp.wordpress.com. It appears to have been taken over by a hacker as attempts to reset password have been unsuccessful. My account is 16 years old so I have no original instructions, have no receipts and have no two factor log in. I am prepared to upgrade to a paid account as I am using it a lot more or pay someone to get me up and running. My email is (email visible only to moderators and staff) and my phone number is +44 (0)7885 626913. Help would be appreciated.

@serenewerewolffa2e18784e nothing has been hacked or whatever. You cretaed the account serenewerewolffa2e18784e yourself only a few hours ago. Just close this account and log in again with the username richardkemp – https://wordpress.com/forums/users/richardkemp/
Also note wordpress.com doesn’t have phone support, so anyone calling claiming to be from wordpress.com is a fraude.

Hi, thanks for trying to help me but I am not very good with IT stuff. When I went into the forum it just directed to me to a site to reset the link which I cannot do. I think my laptop must have been hacked because I did not put the werewolf stuff in and other accounts had to be reinputted, all successfully except this one. Do I need to close this wordpress account and start it up again from scratch?

You haven’t been hacked or whatever. For some reason or another you created that account just before you posted this thread.
Just close this serenewerewolffa2e18784e account as described at https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/
Next: log in with the username richardkemp – https://wordpress.com/forums/users/richardkemp/ – et voila, problem solved.
