    Hi there!

It looks like there might be a ton of backup files created by the Updraft plugin, which are using up all available space and causing issues. Generally speaking, you don’t need to be using any backup plugins since sites on the WordPress.com Creator plan and higher (such as yours) come with real-time automatic backups.

In order to fix the issues on your site, we need your help.

    1. Can you tell us what actions did you take on your site before it stopped working? (Did you use the Updraft plugin for anything specific?)
    2. Is it okay if we remove the backup files Updraft created on the servers? That will free up space on the servers and allow us to fix the issues.

    Thanks!

@aisajib Thank you, you have my permission to remove the backups to work on this issue. The last thing I did before it stopped working was I tried to upload some webp photos to the ‘media’ area. The last thing I remember doing with Updraft was either saving a backup or trying to reinstall another version.

There is a warning when I look up the site url which says “Missing wp-config.php please contact WordPress.com Support.“

Thank you! We’re working on removing the backup files created by Updraft that are using up the space. Once that’s done, we’ll restore the wp-config.php file and let you know here so that you can proceed.

While we wait for our team to work on this, could you tell us if you’re moving/migrating an existing WordPress site from another host to WordPress.com?

Hi @aisajib, thank you I received a message from support that the website is fixed. No, I am not migrating platforms.

I have another question regarding WordPress.com. Is there a way to seamlessly roll over my WordPress plan to ‘Starter’ (using the coupon code (redacted by staff)) so my account would not transition to ‘free’ and disconnect the domain? Thank you

    Hi there!

I checked the site again, and it does indeed look like it’s fixed. Please check and let us know if you’re still running into any problems.

Regarding your question about downgrade, please note that your site currently has active features that are not supported on the WordPress.com Starter and Explorer plans. For example, your active plugins will be removed, including any content generated through them. Advanced hosting features like real-time automatic backups with a one-click restore option will also be disabled.

Please click here to understand what happens when you downgrade a plugin-enabled site from the WordPress.com Creator and above to a lower-tiered plan.

Are you sure you’d like to proceed with those changes?

Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.

@aisajib Would this remove the Woocommerce function from my website?

    Hi there!

WooCommerce is a plugin, and it can only be used on WordPress.com sites with the Creator plan and higher, which allows installing plugins and uploading themes.

While you can use payment buttons to collect payments from your site visitors on lower-tiered plans, the elaborate e-commerce features of WooCommerce require the Creator plan or higher.

Can you share your overall site goals with us so that we can understand your site requirements and suggest accordingly?

    Thanks!
