Lost Account Details

  Hi,

  The Edinburgh University Anime and Animation Society has used WordPress for it’s website for some time now. A couple of years ago the account details for “aasoc.wordpress.com” were lost and a new account was created (this one) to build a new website.

  We now want to close down (or redirect) the old website as it is not representative of the society or it’s members and we fear it may discourage new students from joining the society.

  If you still have access to the email connected to that account, you can enter that email address in the password recovery tool:

  https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

  If that doesn’t work, in order to regain access to a WordPress.com account, we’ll need one of the following things:

  * A transaction ID for any upgrades purchased for the account

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/transaction-id/

  * The WordPress.com account activation link, which we sent to your email address when you first registered with us. If the email you received included a confirmation button instead of a link, you can copy the activation URL by right-clicking on the button and selecting “Copy Link Address” (this text may slightly vary, depending on your browser).

  Hi,

  We no longer have access to the original email used to create the account and I think upgrades for the account – if any – would have been bought with an ID of a society member who has since left.

  If you aren’t able to provide an email from the email address with which the site was registered, a transaction ID, or the original activation link, I’m afraid we won’t be able to help you recover the account.

  We have a strict policy in place to protect our users from third parties who might try to use our support system to gain access to other users’ accounts.
