Lost admin credentials
-
I have an old WordPress.com site that I’d like to log back into, but I don’t have the password, nor do I remember the admin username. How can I get back in?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
If you don’t remember the login details, the only other way to regain access is via our account recovery process:

Okay, I tried using the form, and it asks for proof of ownership. Unfortunately, the site is 10 years old, it hasn’t been used since 2011, and I no longer have the original email address I used to set up the site, so I don’t have the activation URL or key, or the transaction ID.
I have the email correspondences with WordPress.com changing the site’s email address to a new gmail account, which I do have access to, and I do have an email from WordPress.com in 2011 inviting me to renew an upgrade I had purchased for the site, which I must have bought via the old email address.
Is there any way you can help me regain access to the site?

Unless you can actually email us from the email address currently associated with the account, we cannot give you access.
Possession of an email change notification or a renewal reminder is not proof of ownership, as those don’t contain any information that is completely unique to the account.
If you used to have a paid upgrade on that account you should be able to retrieve a transaction ID directly from PayPal, who is the only payment processor we were using during 2010/2011.

Ok, I think I know what the current email address is, where should I send an email to you?
-
Also, is it possible for one email address to be associated with more than one WordPress.com website?

Please email passwordhelp[at]wordpress.com, and remember to include the link of the site you’re trying to access.
It’s not possible for an email to be associated with more than one WordPress.com username account, but you can have multiple sites in a single account.

Woohoo! I found the right email address I used for the site. I found the right username, reset my password, and I’m in now. Thanks much for talking me through this. It helped much. :D
