Lost connection

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
It seems I cannot enter my blog anymore. When i try to open I get this message: ‘Please check your Primary Site’s Jetpack connection’. I don’t know what that is about. Clicking the link that comes with it – wp-admin – brings me to searchresults from BING.
    What do I miss here?

I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account

  • You did have daedalus.weblog.nl hosted elsewhere connected to your WordPress.com account by way of the Jetpack plugin.

It appears that domain name has expired.

If that was intentional, we can disconnect the site from your WordPress.com account.

If not, I recommend contacting your hosting provider’s support immediately.

Thank you for your swift reaction.

However, what it means is not clear to me. If disconnecting the site (which site that is, I have no idea) from my WordPress.com account will allow me to enter my blog, please disconnect it.

    Thanking you in advance,

    Groet’n,

  • Hi Remko,

What Jetpack does is allow you to access your site via your WordPress.com account. If the Jetpack connection is severed, you wouldn’t be able to access the site from here.

Independently from that, you should always be able to access your site’s backend by adding /wp-admin after your domain name. Since your domain expired, though, the domain name will not work anymore. To fix that, as staff-blorbo mentioned above, you should reach out to your provider as soon as possible. Independently from that, you should always be able to access your site’s backend by adding /wp-admin after your domain name.
