Lost Control of User-Friendly URL. Does Blog Still Exist? Can I Get It?

    I am and instructor teaching a journalism class at SBVC. Several semesters ago, a student help set up a user friendly URL to replace the one assigned by WordPress. That student is now gone, the contacts listed on “Whois” are no longer available, and it looks like a payment was missed on the user-friendly URL, and I was wondering if there was another way to access this blog. Can that happen?

    The Blog URL below is not the one that we are having trouble with. The school newspaper’s address was thearrowheadnews.com.

    It looks like thearrowheadnews.com was a self-hosted WordPress.org site, not a WordPress.com site. I can find no record of it on WordPress.com and the Internet Archive shows a site created using WordPress.org software:

    the nameservers for thearrowheadnews.com appear to point to hostmonster. Your best bet might be to talk to the hostmonster support team and ask them if there is anything they can do to help you recover the site.
