Lost Domain names – www.ordinarydentist.com and www.ordinarydentistry.com

  • Unknown's avatar

Domain names registered through you are still active until the middle of 2015 but I am being redirected to a domain seller site as if I no longer own the site. These were previously live sites. I am not sure for how long this has been a problem but the stats report suggest that it has been a while as there are no stats report

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

After looking into your account, I found that you have one domain registered through us:

    noordinarydentist.com

and another domain registered through GoDaddy:

    noordinarydentistry.com

You set noordinarydentistry.com as your primary domain so that all the other domains redirect to that one. However, that domain is not pointing to us as the nameservers are not pointing to us:

    http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=noordinarydentistry.com

Please go to GoDaddy’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:

    • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

For more information, please visit the help documentation provided by the registrar and our support page:

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Grace. Thank you for your prompt response. What is worrying me is that on my record on the word press account I renewed noordinarydentistry.com with wordpress. It was originally with Godaddy but I wanted it to be all in one place so I transfered it … so I thought. The blog was up and running and now not .. does that mean I have lost the domain ? I had made no changes to it since I established it originally.

I transferred and renewed the domain thru WordPress until August 7th 2015 as is evident in my wordpress domain account .. what happened?

I have now also changed my primary account to be http://www.noordinarydentist.com. Its does not seem to have taken affect. How long should it take to refresh?

    Hi there,

Please note that only a domain mapping was created – the domain registration was not transferred as we do not accept incoming domain registrations. To learn more about the difference about domain mapping (also known as hosting) versus registration please read the guide below:

    All About Domains

The issue still remains with the nameservers as I mentioned before. The nameservers are set to:

    Name Server: NS1.MYTRAFFICMANAGEMENT.COM
    Name Server: NS2.MYTRAFFICMANAGEMENT.COM

    as seen here:

    http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=noordinarydentistry.com

They need to be set to us for you to see your site, and this would only be possible through your registrar, GoDaddy. I wouldn’t have any control over that. If you don’t know how, contact GoDaddy’s support team and ask them to change the nameservers to:

    • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

It would seem that I have lost ownership of the domain name http://www.noordinarydentistry.com … I have already changed the primary to refer to http://www.noordinarydentist.com but it has not taken affect after 24 hours.. Do I have to do anything else ? How do I delete a mapped domain address ?

    Again thanks Grace

    Hi there,

It may have just been a caching issue. I am able to see your site at: http://www.noordinarydentist.com as seen here:

If that’s not what you see, can you please try clearing out your cache and cookies using the guide below?

Also, if you are no longer the owner of the domain: http://www.noordinarydentistry.com I can remove the mapping from your account and provide you a full refund. Please reply to confirm!
