Lost Draft
-
I am missing all the content in a draft I wrote. It happened after I clicked save draft. I check all the revisions and the content is missing in all of them except for the very first version. The program was auto-saving so where did these revisions go??? I feel real bad because I put in a lot of work to put together the draft. Reconstruction will be time consuming. Firefox was the browser in use when this happened. This is the first time it has happened. I did not accidentally delete anything and it is not in the trash. Very strange. I feel like I’m going to have to draft in Word and then cut and past over to WordPress in future to prevent this from happening. Scary.
Any help to retrieve the missing content is greatly appreciated.

Hello there,
(1) Look in your Admin section to see if it was saved as a Draft Post or as a Private Post or Draft Page or Private Page.Draft Posts page: http://YOUR_BLOG_NAME_HERE.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=draft
Private Posts page: http://YOUR_BLOG_NAME_HERE.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=private
Draft Pages page: http://YOUR_BLOG_NAME_HERE.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-pages.php?post_status=draft
Private Pages page: http://YOUR_BLOG_NAME_HERE/wp-admin/edit-pages.php?post_status=private
(2) If you don’t find the post or page then it could be in your Trash. Provided you did not permanently delete it then restoration is possible.
(3) WordPress software has an autosave feature that saves every 2 minutes. Each time you click Save Draft or Update Post (or Page) a revision is saved.
You can look the last autosave for Posts » Post Revisions
You can look in the last autosave for Pages »Page Revisions -
Note: If you cannot locate revisions in a module down below the edit box, then, go to screen options at upper right corner of your Admin page and activate them.

Thank you for your response.
I tried all those things yesterday, but it did not work. Today I rewrote the article and everything seems to be working.
I think the difference involves how I added pictures to the post. Yesterday, I simply cut and pasted pictures into my draft and when I clicked save draft, everything was wiped out including any previous revisions. I clicked on every revision and it was empty.
Today, I used the upload/insert function to add pictures to the draft and everything seems to be working as it should be. I also started the draft on Word, not WordPress so that if something unpleasant happens (like yesterday), I will still have the bulk of my text/draft saved on my local computer and not have to start from scratch. -

I recommend using windowslivewriter rather than WORD. If you click those links you will find out why.
Also as you are copying and pasting please activate this setting on your blog.
Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”Lastly, when it comes to copying and pasting from elsewhere into posts or pages without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor, please see here so you know how to do this correctly in the future. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text

Windows Live Writer is a nice application. And it was on my computer all the time. I’ll be using it from here on out.
Thanks. -
