Lost log-in details, setting blog to private
-
Hello!
Using another WordPress account, I started a blog in February 2011 and haven’t touched it since May that year. I tried to delete it, but I can’t recover my log-in details because I forgot the e-mail account I used to register the blog (I tried all the ones I could remember, and it was possibly a throwaway account).
I understand that staff cannot delete the blog under these circumstances, but could you simply set it to private so that it is not publicly viewable? I’ve seen on the Support Forums that this solution has been used several times in similar cases.
Thanks in advance.

If necessary, I can send the blog URL and username to a Staff member by private message.

Hi there,
What is the WordPress.com URL that you want to set to private?
What I could do before setting to private is contact the email on file so that you can check all of your email accounts to see if you can find my email. That way, you’ll be able to recover the account.
Let me know. Thanks!

Hello, darnelldibbles, and thanks for your reply.
Your suggestion sounds good. Is there some way I can send you the URL via private message?

I haven’t received your e-mail on any of the four accounts I still use. If I send you the blog URL privately, could you please set the blog to private? Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
I sent the email to the ymail address connected to the account you are contacting me from. You can check what email is under you account here: https://wordpress.com/me/account
It would be better to receive an email from me because I do not have direct email – someone else may handle the email that you’d send over.
Let me know – thanks!
