lost my site

    I lost my access to my site through the WP admin after I disconnected Jetpack thinking I could just reinstall it. Help :-(

    Hi there,

    We can’t help directly because we don’t host lindsaykonopaphotography.com on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result we don’t have the ability to take a closer look at your site.

    Instead your host (Siteground) uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com. Specifically we use a custom login system on WordPress.com (for enhanced security) that also helps prevent this kind of lockout from occurring. Because of this our procedures for regaining account access do not work on sites hosted with other providers.

    In this case the Jetpack plugin would not be a factor because it does not replace the default login system your site uses with the custom WordPress.com login I’ve described above.

    The good news is that as long as you have access to the server control panel through Siteground, it is always possible to regain access to your self-hosted WordPress site.     You can ask Siteground support for direct assistance in completing the steps in that article; they would be in the best position to help.
