Lost text
-
Hello there,
I was typing a text and the text disappeared before it was published, can it be retrieved? It somehow doesn’t appear as a draft or in trashed folder either.
Thank you so much.Ivana

Hi @slavonicdances, I don’t see it either. Were you using a browser or a mobile / desktop / tablet app? Also, this is not in one of these existing posts, correct?

Thanks for answering; I was using iPad 6tg gen., latest iOS, Safari browser, I clicked on that ‘+ sign’ and started typing my text. Went to another app on the iPad – came back frantically seeking it – no text there/anywhere, I guess it’s lost forever when it was not automatically saved by the WordPress as a draft?

When you went to another app, did you just switch apps, or did you close Safari completely first?
If you just switched apps I wouldn’t think the content should be affected in any way, but if you closed Safari before the content had time to auto-save, that would explain this. In that case, there’s no way to restore the content, as it never made it to our servers.
For the iPad you might want to consider our iOS app instead, though. It has the ability to save drafts locally to your device and does so the moment you exit the editor on the app. It doesn’t support the block editor yet, but that’s currently being worked on.

I usually do use the iOS WordPress app..
I must have closed the Safari as you say.
Thanks for answering. -
