Lost Website
-
Hello,
The non-[rofit I work for, Monongalia Arts Center, ‘monartscenter.com’ recently switched hosting services and had a situation where our domain expired and we have repurchased our domain but now I have no idea how to access our old website. It was created and managed through WordPress, and I can no longer access it, nor does it show up when googled.Site: monartscenter.com.

Hello, I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your website. However, your site was not hosted with WordPress.com. It was a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
The site was also not using our backup product https://jetpack.com/upgrade/backup/ so we won’t be able to directly assist with this.
I recommend contacting your former hosting provider to ask if they still have a backup of your account.
If they do not, you’re welcome to start a new site with us at https://wordpress.com/start and you can at least copy/paste content from an archived copy, like https://web.archive.org/web/20210309113245/https://www.monartscenter.com/

Hi @shanareed
staff-blorbo and I were chatting about your situation, and after some digging around I was able to find your domain history and it used to have these domain name server (NS) settings:
- ns1.bizland.com
- ns2.bizland.com
Did you use Bizland as the host for your site previously? If so you may want to ask your domain support team (the one you purchased monartscenter.com back from) to see if they can add those settings to your domain and see if it reconnects to the old site.
If not then you may need to contact Bizland directly to confirm they still have your account and site files and see if they are able to help you connect your domain to them again.
Hope this helps point you in the right direction!
