Lowercase Letters
-
Why must I use lowercase letters for my user name? Jcguest’s Weblog looks ridiculous.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
The Site title (blog name) and/or the optional Tagline can be changed to upper case lettering on the top of this page at any time. > Settings > General … “save changes”.
That is exactly where search engine spiders look for the site title and removing it from there can cause issues with getting your content indexed. Note that the site title (blog name) and blog address URL do not have to be the same but it’s better for SEO (search engine optimization) if they are the same.
Your username is a URL and URLs do not contain uppercase letters. See here for using a nickname (display name). https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/#change-display-name-nickname
Change Display Name (Nickname)
Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back and the old name will not be available for you or anyone to use. If you just want to show your name differently please only change your Display Name. -
Not sure I understand your response, Timethief. Do I understand the site title is Jcguest’s Weblog and my user name is J. Conrad?
If I understand that correctly, I can change the site tile Jcguest’s Weblog to J Conrad Guest’s Weblog in the Account settings? I don’t see a “General” tab, I see “My Profile,” “Password,” “Security” and “Notifications.”
This is what I see under “Account”:
Username: jcguest Change
Email Address: Will not be publicly displayed.
Primary Blog: jcguest.wordpress.comClicking Change User Name, I find this:
If you want to change your display name (currently J. Conrad), you can do so under My Profile.
Changing your username will also affect the following profile address:
Your Gravatar profile address (currently http://gravatar.com/jcguest).
Your IntenseDebate profile address (currently http://intensedebate.com/profiles/jcguest).If you want to change your username please fill out the fields below to continue the process.
I’ve attempted to fill in the fields, but each time I do, I’m told that only lowercase letters are allowed.
I simply wish to change Jconrad’s Weblog to J. Conrad Guest’s Weblog.

Go to http://jcguest.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php
Type J. Conrad Guest’s Weblog into the Site Title field on the top line on that page.
Scroll down and click “save changes” -

Thanks. I’m looking forward to a 2 day vocal workshop weekend and I can’t wait for it to happen. I ♥ ♫ . And, I hope your weekend is a great one too.

Now, how do I show older blog posts? It seems my home pages shows, under “Recent Entries”, only my last ten posts. Surely there must be a way to show older posts, make them clickable?
Thanks.
