Mac desktop app blank screen, error code 5

  When launching the wordpress.com desktop Mac application (v 8.0.3 Apple Silicon) on a MBP running Sonoma, I get a blank screen with the following error message:

  WordPress.com ran into an error! (code 5)
  or
  WordPress.com ran into an error! (code 356)

  I’ve rebooted, deleted the app, deleted the WordPress.com folder in ~/Library/Application Support and com.automattic.wordpress.plist in ~/Library/Preferences as well as com.automattic.wordpress.savedState in Z/Library/Saved Application State but that doesn’t seem to have any impact.
  

  If I login with a different user, the app launches normally without error code. Any ideas?

  If anyone ever stumbles upon this, disable lulu if you are using it. Somehow lulu doesn’t show any notification when the wordpress app tries to contact the login server and just blocks the app
