Macbook and use of MAMP to update software

    I am a new macbook user and after SEVERAL hours of trying to update my WordPress software and trying with MAMP I give up. I read all the forums and wordpress.org but have been unsuccessful. I wanted to use feedjit on my clustr map and usually most issues I can resolve on my own but this has beat me down. PLEASE HELP me download newest software to my macbook for my classroom. I am a 6th grade teacher and my kids love the blog. I want to push forward. THANKS and talk to you son!

    Hi Mike, these forums are for support with WordPress.com sites, but it sounds like you may want to run a self-hosted WordPress site instead. (You can learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.)

    The good news is that WordPress.org has a whole forum for folks who need help with local installs, like your MAMP install. Just head over here and log in with a WordPress.org username and password:

    On the other hand, if you’re just continuing to use your WordPress.com site here: http://sapiascience.wordpress.com – you don’t need your own installation, since we handle all software updates for you, throughout the WordPress.com universe.
