Maisha Theme Homepage Issue
-
I bought these theme and the solid header bar that is on the child pages is on the home page, above the main graphic. How do I get rid of this?

Hi there,
Are you speaking of https://reconvelocitycom.wordpress.com/?
That bar is how the page title displays if you don’t have a featured image assigned to a page. If you have a featured image, the image will appear there instead, with the page title over it.
To have the page title hidden completely, like in the theme demo, you need to assign the Front Page Template to your page. Edit the Home page, and look for page attributes in the editor sidebar. Select the frontpage template there.
You can find detailed instructions on how this theme works here:

Thank you so much. This was very helpful! And thanks for the links to the instructions. https://reconvelocitycom.wordpress.com/ I did get rid of the page title but can’t figure out how to get rid of the dark gray background and get my image full width. Is there a page width setting? I changed the page background color but the dark gray background remains. Thank you again so much!

Hi! Have you tried setting that image as your featured image? I recommend doing that, first. We’ll go from there.

Thanks again. I’m so frustrated with this theme! The reason I bought the theme was because of the homepage. All I want is to have the IDENTICAL homepage as shown in the theme. When I installed the theme, that design wasn’t there. Is there a way for me to start over and just get the homepage that displayed on the theme without affecting all of the other pages I have built for three days? This is definitely not WYSIWYG. Thank you.

You’ll be able to get that following the steps at https://wordpress.com/theme/maisha/setup
Under the “Creating Your Front Page” section, you’ll find a breakdown of the elements from the demo.
